As the details of the Unsigned Musicians Awards are finalized, we can today reveal that New Zealand Alternative Rock act Ivy Blue will be the recipients of the first annual UMA Silver Circle Award. The classic line-up made up of James Brodie, Daniel Marsom, original drummer A.Flow, and Jevan Bowley are being recognized for outstanding musical contributions as well as services to multiple charitable efforts and social causes over the years.

Over the course of seven studio albums and a studio EP, the alternative rock act from Te Aroha, New Zealand have covered many musical territories. From their synth-landscape/alt-pop beginnings on REVEAL and WORLD MAGNETIC to their breakthrough record ILLUSIONS and their smash hits Forever December and Kerianne; right through to further success with the record 19, containing several hits including "Strangers In The Night", "Sister Mercy", and "Streets Of Dreams". Their success has continued consistently with the releases of the back-to-basics "Heart+Mind EP", the acoustic-pop "Present Shapes" and the nostalgic alt-rock "21". Their 7th album "Motions" is so far proving to be another success story in the trophy case of Ivy Blue. In 2017, a rare tour of Europe by frontman James Brodie saw significant success and featured venues such as Vondelpark in Amsterdam, the rarely-visited Croatia, the Bastille Boulevard in Paris, and three sold-out nights at the legendary Stoketoberfest festival in Munich, Germany among the 21 shows performed. Whenever James takes to the stage; he tells stories of his childhood while playing a fairytale back-catalog of hits that continue to regenerate new meaning time and time again, delighting fans all over the world and never failing to put on a great show. These are just a handful of the things that Ivy Blue have achieved, along with supporting many charitable and social causes over their 6 years of existence, proving that Ivy Blue are not just here to entertain you.

From James Brodie and Daniel Marsom: “We are thrilled to be recipients of the UMA Silver Circle Award. This is something that even our wildest dreams could never have thought of and we would like to share our sincerest thanks to Ivy Blue fans all over the world as well as to those who have made this happen. While we’re yet to make any decisions about any potential performances on the night, we are looking forward to meeting with my fellow inductees at the induction ceremony in the near future and taking a chance to look back and see how far we’ve come”.

Jevan Bowley adds: “This is the utmost honour. I would like to thank the UMA committee for giving us these prestigious honours as unsigned artists as well as special thanks to the fans because it is them who have given us this honour and the success that Ivy Blue has had over the years. You have our never-ending love and honour. From every fibre in my heart and Ivy Blue’s hearts; thank you for your continued and never-ending support”.

With new album Motions gearing up to be another notch in Ivy Blue's belt, and with plans that are keeping Ivy Blue under the star-lights well into the next decade, it seems as though there's little standing in the way of Ivy Blue's road to success as the years go by and the music continues to evolve, we couldn't think of a better act to present our first ever Silver Circle award to. Ivy Blue will receive the award in November at a special event in New Zealand, with details to be finalized soon. In the meantime, congratulations to Ivy Blue on being the first musicians to receive our highest award. We look forward to recognizing their many efforts in the very near future.
